Job Description
POSITION TITLE
Plant Design Engineer
REPORTS TO
Engineering Manager
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum an engineering degree preferably mechanical
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar capacity within industrial/ automotive/ aerospace industry and demonstrated levels of performance across varied situations
Demonstrated ability to single-handedly design or modify engineering tooling prints fit for use
Working knowledge of the fastening industry and its peripheral industries
Hands-on product and process knowledge and experience dealing with customers from various industries
Experienced in component level industrial products going into the automotive/ aerospace/ industrial segments
Familiar with engineering design and simulation software eg. Autocad and Pro-E
Able to communicate with and understand customer needs and requirements
Operates with a strong sense of urgency and personal commitment to meet deliverables
Demonstrates ability to team play within and across functions to meet customers requirements
Good English communication skills (read and write); basic oral English communication
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with technology, sales and application engineering functions to meet product development and/ or customer requirements that is fit for use from a plant engineering perspective
Responsible for technical integrity and safety of products from an engineering design (including mold/ tooling design) requirement, ensures formal processes and controls to support product development process
Understands product requirements from customers perspective and translate requirements internally for manufacturing, including mold design specifications
Support and build key customer relationships jointly with sales and technology team
