Service Engineer

About the Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Service Engineer (UK) at Norman Hay Engineering, a Quaker Houghton company based in Coventry, UK with occasional travel to other sites.

Tasks

What will you do?

The service engineer will be based mainly at one of our clients sites in the Skipton area and be required to work at our wide UK/overseas client base; Servicing and maintaining the client plant/machines as part of service agreements and one-off service visits.

Primary Tasks

• Scheduled servicing of manual and automated plant at our client works including; cleaning, inspection and testing as per our standard procedures
• Complete detailed survey of plant/machines at client sites, detailing faults and requirements for repairs
• Repairs/maintenance of manual and automated plant at our client works
• Installations of manual and automated plant at our client works
• System testing and commissioning
• Generate/specify detailed material list for service, maintenance and installation works Completion of detailed service reports and job related documentation
• Promote company and services, to the client when on-site and during correspondence when working with/at the client.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment
• Apply where appropriate Clients, Quality, Health, Safety, Environment Policy and Management System
• Other duties that may be requested in association with the company s business

Requirements

What do we look for?

Qualifications & Experience

Essential (must have)

• Electrical qualifications, process machinery experience, mechanical experience, Ability to work under pressure, with tight schedules necessitating extra hours at times: weekend and unsocial' hours are often required, particularly where equipment is in 24-hour operation
• Demonstrated experience working with PLC s, HMI and SCADA systems
• Ability to read and interpret pneumatic, electrical, mechanical and P & ID drawings
• Willingness to travel overseas when required

Desirable (nice to have)

• Service background in multiple disciplines, good understanding of health and safety, MEWP license, chemical awareness, Proficiency and experience in pneumatics, heating, cooling, control systems pumping systems, process valves, instrumentation, steam heating system etc.

Personality & Personal Situation

Must be able to work on own initiative or with a team. Must be willing to commute daily along with the willingness to travel across the UK and abroad as required. Flexibility is key to this role.
