(Senior) Backend Developer (f/m/x)

Our vision/goal

We are a young Berlin-based start-up developing an intelligent IoMT-based assistance system for care homes. Our goal is to optimize the quality of life of the residents and the quality of work of the caregivers.

To this end, we are currently working on an intelligent incontinence product that recognizes relevant events and shares them with the caregivers in real time. With the help of a mobile app we provide, caregivers are always informed and can decide on the next steps based on their needs. In addition to that and to be able to provide more services for our customers we are building an interoperable IoMT platform for care homes. Together with other partners, our goal is to provide a all-round service to make everyday work easier for caregivers and to put the focus back on the people who need care.

Tasks

As our (Senior) Backend Engineer (f/m/d), you will be responsible for designing and maintaining our cloud- based products, as well as connecting external applications into our solution. This is a pivotal role for the future of the company and you will work closely with our product owners, marketing and technical leads to make key product and go-to-market decisions.

Responsibilities

• You will create and be responsible for microservices and storage systems for real-time IoT data
• You create the software backend for data-centric dashboards used by our customers
• You integrate frontend codebases from partner companies into the backend
• You will take care of maintaining our Python and Java frontend codebases with existing backends
• You create a production setup for data analysis for the integrated companies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field with ideally 5+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Django and Javascript including Reactjs / Vue frameworks and core front-end technologies.
• Relevant experience with cloud-native technologies (preferably Amazon AWS).
• Good knowledge of REST, RPCs, APIs, and experience in building and deploying software (CI/ CD)
• Good experience with databases, Unix systems, Git, deployment and test automation frameworks
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Good written and spoken English; German optional
