Job Description

About the role

Naivas is on the lookout for Commercial Officers to join their team. If you are an open-minded salesperson who is highly analytical with excellent communication and negotiation skills, we would like to meet you!

The Commercial Officer reports to the Assistant Commercial Manager and their main purpose is to undertake the daily activities of the category management strategy, with the objective of contributing to the achievement of the revenue and profitability targets assigned to the category. Success, as it pertains to this role, is measured by: the achievement of revenue, sales, cost management, and production targets, high customer satisfaction levels on the quality of Deli products, timely delivery of products, and delivering on the pricing index within a set pricing budget.

What you will be doing:

Sales Support
  • You will implement the sales plans to support the profitability and sales objectives as captured in the sales strategy
  • You will follow up on the sales pipeline in a timely and effective manner to align with the Naivas Sales and Profitability targets.
  • Undertake competitor research activities to garner data that will influence the competitiveness of the Naivas sales strategy
Category Management
  • You will provide the input required to develop the budget for category management to ensure the timely allocation of resources required for the successful implementation of the sales strategy.
  • You will undertake regular category assessments to advise on any changes to the product portfolio in the assigned category, in alignment with the Naivas business objectives.
  • You will observe both internal and external regulations, especially those that relate to your assigned category to ensure zero compliance risk exposure to the business.
Customer Management
  • You will attend to customer complaints and operational issues in a manner that aligns with the Naivas customer promise.
  • You will actively communicate key changes in processes and initiatives that touch on customers, to ensure all orders are delivered as planned.
  • You will advocate for consumer protection rights to ensure the Naivas policies, processes and procedures are cognizant of the customer reality.
Supplier and Product Life Management
  • You will undertake activities that relate to the management of the supplier life journey from listing to delisting to ensure the supplier Naivas relationship supports the achievement of the Naivas business objectives.
  • You will implement the product life journey process from listing to delisting to ensure delivery against customer expectations.
Report
  • You will develop sales reports as per the Naivas sales reporting templates to ensure the timely submission of quality reports that influence decision-making.


Requirements


  • You have a relevant bachelor s degree from a credible institution, preferably with a business-related background.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in category management in the manufacturing industry or in a retail supermarket
  • You have an interest and are passionate about sales strategy development and implementation.
  • You enjoy researching and using data to drive decisions.
  • You are computer-literate and proficient in MS Office, a tool that will regularly be used in this role.
  • You have excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • You are a confident and cooperative team player with high levels of integrity.
  • You are full of integrity and can maintain confidentiality on Naivas strategy
