Inspect cranes, hoists, and other WHE to diagnose source of trouble, dismantle or partly dismantle WHE and perform repairs that mainly involve the use of hand and power tools
Inspecting, certifying, testing, and maintaining Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) and Mobile Cranes in accordance with EM 385-1-1, NAVFAC P-307, 29 CFR Part 1910, and 29 CFR Part 1926
Replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, and ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs
Perform crane operations and rigging - meeting the personnel qualifications requirements in paragraph 16.B of EM 385-1-1
Preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops
Reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation
Strong experience in operating, maintaining and repairing WHE, per NAVFAC P-307
Inspect and test crane and trackage per NAVFACINST 11230.1
To carry out all maintenance repairs and modifications on Mobile Harbor Cranes, Rubber Gantry Cranes, Spreaders and other plant and equipment in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Practice and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Performs crane and other weight handling equipment (WHE) maintenance and repairs in accordance with the NAVFAC P-307 using diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications
