Our client a reputable construction company is looking for a proactive and detailoriented Transport Controller to oversee and manage daily transport operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers dispatching trucks on time monitoring their movement ensuring fuel efficiency and addressing any roadrelated issues. The role requires strong leadership organizational skills and a good understanding of truck mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate drivers to ensure efficient transport operations.
- Dispatch trucks by 6:00 AM daily to designated loading points.
- Monitor and track truck movements throughout the day until they return.
- Ensure driver attendance and follow up on any absences.
- Address and resolve any road or trafficrelated issues en route.
- Utilize online tracking systems to monitor truck locations and movements.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on transport activities.
- Manage and monitor fuel consumption and fuel ratio for trucks to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure basic awareness of truck mechanics and oversee minor repairs when necessary.
- Recruit competent drivers and ensure all trucks are assigned responsible personnel.
Requirements
- Previous experience in transport management logistics or fleet coordination (preferably in the construction industry).
- Knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with mechanical aspects of trucks and minor repairs is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operations simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Proficiency in using online tracking systems for vehicle monitoring.
- Good analytical skills for managing fuel consumption and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
