University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022 and it is the first national university specializing in academic applied technical and professional education in the State of Qatar. UDST has over 70 bachelors and masters degree programs diplomas and certificates. The university houses 5 colleges: The College of Business the College of Computing and Information Technology the College of Engineering and Technology the College of Health Sciences and the College of General Education in addition to specialized training centers for individuals and companies. The Information Technology Directorate invites applications for Supervisor ERP position reporting to Manager Business Applications.
Responsibilities:
This position requires a meticulous individual who will manage the development of IT Applications whilst ensuring best practices and industry standards are being met in compliance with UDST policies and protocols. Additionally S/He will be responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to identify UDST requirements and provide businessoptimizing solutions.
The successful candidate will set UDST priorities and identify emerging IT opportunities that can be addressed to enhance UDST initiatives operations and collaboration among business units and faculty.
The successful candidate will manage the development of PeopleSoft ERP applications ensure that quality assurance policies and procedures are in alignment with ITIL UDST IT design and development protocols as well track all programming changes and oversee ERP Applications development. S/ He will provide regular reports to the Business Applications Department Head as required.
The successful candidate will support UDST initiatives and work collaboratively to increase the efficiency of IT business process solutions across all business units and maintain ongoing communication with vendors also remain current with software trends and emerging technologies to optimize Application functionality. S/He will maintain an uptodate knowledge in industry standard web development technologies and languages and also ensure compliance with industry best practice and UDST policies.
The successful candidate will organize ERP Application service strategies develop and promote best practices for usage operations and development. Also oversee developers and administrators in architecting appropriate design and expansion. S/He will manage and support the ERP Development Team and work collaboratively with the Digital Solutions Supervisor to provide leadership and recommendations on how to effectively fulfill UDST IT needs.
The successful candidate will oversee application development and administration to ensure ITIL and UDST protocols are being enforced and ensure compliance. S/He will confirm coding and data protection practices are in effect to ensure compliance and data security across all systems and databases and confirm consistency and compliance.
The successful candidate will oversee all documentation ensuring accurate record keeping and monitoring. S/He will make sure that coding and data protection practices are in effect to guarantee compliance and data security across all systems and databases and also ensure consistency and compliance.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Manager Business Applications other business unit heads and IT Power users across UDST to identify project requirements provide software solutions and assist with integration to optimize business processes S/he will perform miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Bachelors degree in IT or related field required
Masters degree/ professional certification preferred
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in IT or related field
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language required
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language preferred
Other Required Skills:
- A team player with strong IT technical skills and the ability to apply technical knowledge and provide sound comprehensive support along with a desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required.
- Proactive in attention to detail and good time management is essential.
- Knowledge of Analysing functional requirement technical know how of education technologies Application development System Integration IT project management and Principles of Information Technology is required.
- A Commitment to ongoing IT training and continuous professional development is desirable. Analytic thinking problem solving and service excellence should be the strong attributes.
- Experience working on Peoplesoft ERP Applications is required and applicant might need to provide evidence from previous employer.
- Experience working on any Students Information Systems in Higher Education Industry required.
- Any certifications from OraclePeopleSoft like People Tools Campus Solutions/Human Capital Management/FSCM Functional Modules preferred.
- Experience working in Higher Education Institutions preferred.
- Experience managing the PeopleSoft Development Test Stage and Production Environments preferred.
