Position Summary;
- Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer Associate Chief Nursing Officer and/or Director of Nursing the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning of all clinical nursing units as per CDPH (Title 22).
- The Clinical Supervisor must ensure the administration of quality of patient care.
- You will also oversee guide and mentor the nursing staff for your assigned shift to ensure the plan of care for the patient population.
- The Clinical Supervisor applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.
The Clinical Supervisor:
A. Is responsible for initiating guiding and supervising the coordination of services provided by the all nursing units.
B. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of all members of the clinical staff.
C. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by specified units.
D. Maintain and upholds to CVSH Standards of Conducts and ensures staff members are within guidelines.
E. Is responsible for the disciplinary process when necessary for staff members under their supervision.
F. Ensures systems and processes dictated by Facilitys policy and procedures are observed and followed correctly. Makes decisions regarding activities in areas of responsibility based on Facilitys Administrative Standards Human Resources Standards Divisions of Nursing Clinical Supervisor.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- This position requires current CA State RN licensure
- A two (2) year Associates Degree in Nursing and at least three (3) years of acute clinical practice experience with an emphasis on leadership.
- ICU/Critical Care experience and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Must be BLS EKG and ACLS certified.
- This position requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to follow written and verbal instructions and to maintain effective working relations with others.
- This position requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours.
