Director Of Laboratory

Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in Beckley West Virginia in search of a talented Director of Laboratory.

Job Summary:

The Director of Laboratory will plan organize and oversee all aspects of laboratory operations for a 300bed hospital facility. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure quality patient care maintain positive staff relations and drive financial success for the laboratory and pathology departments.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan organize and delineate duties of laboratory personnel in cooperation with the director of laboratories
• Perform biannual review of procedure manuals and monthly review of quality control
• Assess competency of high complexity testing personnel
• Ensure quality and appropriateness of patient care in conjunction with the Medical Director
• Manage personnel and financial aspects of the Laboratory and Pathology Departments
• Develop and maintain positive medical staff and interdepartmental relations
• Stay current with advances in Laboratory and Pathology medicine and management

Qualifications:

I. Education:

• BA/BS with 6 years of experience OR MS with 4 years experience OR HEW certified with 10 years experience

II. Experience:

• Prior director experience in a hospital laboratory setting
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on indepth knowledge of laboratory techniques principles and instruments
• Experience with financial management and strategic planning

III. License(s)/Certification(s):

• Relevant laboratory certifications preferred

• High degree of professional excellence reliability initiative and ethics
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of laboratory regulations and accreditation standards
