Background

Water and Energy for Food (WE4F): A Grand Challenge for Development is a joint international initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) the European Union the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Netherlands the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) (herein after referred to as the Donors). Within this initiative the Middle East and North Africa Regional Innovation Hub (MENA RIH) supports innovators that work in the region and produce more food while using less water and energy to impact food security gender and poverty reduction in an environmentally sustainable way.

Project Overview

As part of our initiative we will be creating a series of mini documentaries that showcase the work and impact of our innovators across the region. WE4F seeks experienced video editors to edit content gathered from site visits of innovators across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region specifically from Lebanon Iraq Egypt Morocco and Tunisia. The aim is to produce 17 to 22 videos covering innovator stories (2 3min long) and also produce 5 minidocumentaries each ranging from 10 12 minutes in length highlighting the achievements and innovations of these innovators clustered under 5 different thematic areas. The content will be used for outreach awareness and promotional purposes as well as highlighting the achievement the program had achieved in the past 4 years.

Tasks

The selected video editors will be responsible for:

1. Editing Video Content: Edit raw footage provided by WE4F into polished and compelling mini documentaries.

2. Visual and Audio Enhancements: Include necessary color correction sound design and music to enhance the storytelling experience.

3. Incorporating Storyboard: Follow the provided storyboard for each mini documentary to ensure coherence with the intended narrative.

4. Consistency in Branding: Maintain consistent branding elements such as logos fonts and color schemes as per WE4F guidelines.

5. Revisions: Incorporate feedback from WE4Fs team and make necessary revisions to the videos (3 feedback loops).

Deliverables

1. Mini Documentaries:

5 minidocumentaries for innovators based in Iraq Lebanon Morocco Egypt and Tunisia.

Each mini documentary should be between 10 to 12 minutes long.

2. Short Videos:

17 o 22 short videos for innovators based in Iraq Lebanon Morocco Egypt and Tunisia.

Each short video should be between 2 to 3 minutes long.

3. Final Video Files:

Delivered in highquality formats (i.e. Source footage final cut) suitable for online platforms and presentations.

4. Edited Drafts:

Provide drafts of each video for review and feedback (3 rounds for each video).

5. Subtitles for each video in EN FR AR.

Timeframe & Workload

The project is expected to commence in September and conclude by January 2025. Editors will need to manage their workload efficiently to meet the delivery timelines for all videos. There will be a few meetings required including a kickoff meeting and sessions to discuss feedback and coordinate each round.

Requirements

Proven experience in video editing particularly in documentarystyle projects.

Proficiency in video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro Final Cut Pro).

Ability to work with raw footage and create compelling narratives.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow creative direction.

Strong time allocation and management skills.

Strong understanding of EN FR AR for subtitles.
