YDRC s mission is to improve the quality of Detroitarea youthserving organizations to maximize their impact on youth and to advocate for accessible highquality youth development opportunities. The vision of YDRC is to connect all Detroitarea youth to highquality youth development opportunities that grow their capacities to thrive in school and life.
YDRC supports 100s of Detroit youth development providers with a holistic approach to quality networking advocacy and adult learning to expand youth provider skills and capabilities. The programs of YDRC strengthen the individual and collective impact on youth by giving the youth providers the tools they need to increase program quality and produce measurable results.

Position Summary
The Executive Directors role is to support team members in fully implementing YDRC s mission and to build trust among the Out of School Time (OST) network so that our collective vision can be realized. The Executive Director leads the organizations team programs and strategic plan. Other key duties include program development network building continuous quality improvement fundraising and communications. This position will be based at the Youth Development Resource Center s office in Detroit MI following a hybrid office model and a 100% Full Time Exempt (FTE) appointment.
Performance/Character Requirements
The YDRC seeks a transformational leader who can create spaces of belonging and agency within the organization and across the OST network. Now more than ever the organization and OST sector need a visionled individual who understands how to build trust center marginalized communities use data to make decisions and measure progress and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders. While we prefer a person with a youth development background it is not a requirement. Our next ED will have a successful track record in organizing diverse groups around a shared vision building and sustaining humancentered organizations and readiness to join the YDRC team in fostering a thriving OST sector.

Executive Duties
Lead Vision: Guide staff and network partners in collectively meeting the vision & mission act as the public representative and spokesperson of the Youth Development Resource Center network and bring new ideas and energy to staff and partners
Set Strategic Direction: With the fiscal sponsor and core stakeholders lead the strategic planning process and implementation of the strategic plan
Governance: With the fiscal sponsor and core stakeholders develop a strategy for YDRC/coordinating body governance including a plan for developing an advisory board and governance structure
General/Administrative Duties
Systems & Institutional Partnerships: Build and maintain transformational relationships with systems & institutional partners (e.g. City of Detroit Detroit Public Schools Community District etc.)
Support Staff and Contracted Staff: Staff and contracted staff report to the Executive Director and receive supervision; ensure all individuals have the resources and support to fulfill the organization s strategic plan; plan and lead staff meetings; encourage and advise staff professional development (PD)
Lead Programmatic Goals and Objectives: Support the team in developing annual programmatic goals and objectives managing the implementation of programs to meet goals/objectives and leading engagement/input sessions with appropriate network partners during this process
Network Quality Improvement/PD System and OST SystemBuilding: Lead research and selection of assessment tools for the network; build and nurture a network of provider partners; build a community of practice that results in continuous quality improvement for Detroit outofschool time (OST) programs; Lead a cohort of quality coach assessors and trainers to expand quality improvement (QI)/professional development (PD) delivery capacity; participate in and provide advice to stakeholders connected to youthdevelopment system building in Detroit
Data and evaluation: Represent and act as lead contact for YDRC s Acting with Data Learning Community and summer program quality
Fundraising Financial and Contract Management: Secure funding to meet annual budget needs build & maintain relationships with private/public funders and identify potential funders; coordinate and lead grant writing and reporting; prepare annual organization budget with the fiscal sponsor; manage monthly financial statements reconciliation with a fiscal sponsor track projectbased expenditures; develop and manage contracts associated with key programmatic strategies
Support Personnel and Contracts: Staff and contractors report to the Executive Director and receive oversight and support; plan and lead staff meetings; encourage and advise staff on professional development; manage contracts with internal and external partners; create a culture of belonging and wellness
Lead Operational Goals and Objectives: Develop/determine annual operational goals and objectives (financial communications internal and external contracts); manage contract implementation to meet goals/objectives; and lead engagement/input sessions with appropriate network partners during this process
Communications: Lead process to further develop YDRC s brand and communications strategy including leading the upkeep of the YDRC and Discover Your Spark (DYS) websites; oversight of social media accounts
Lead Internal Continuous Quality Improvement: Lead internal continuous quality improvement efforts; ensure data quality and manage data entry and analysis; generate data reports for external stakeholders
Other duties as necessary to the organization s success
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises all YDRC staff and contracted staff.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing these duties the employee is occasionally required to stand walk sit use hands to handle or feel objects and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The worksite will be 2470 Collingwood St. Detroit MI and offsite/hybrid. The hours of work will be Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is offered at a 100% FTE appointment.
Travel is approximately 15% time (subject to change depending on organizational needs).
