Positions provide opportunities for those seeking RACP-accredited Basic Physician Training. The BPT trainees get 5 hours of paid teaching per week according to the new award established this year.
For those BPTs who require a subspecialty rotation -
Cardiology, Geriatrics and
ICU rotations can be offered.
The Department of General and Acute Care Medicine also provides opportunities for Advanced Training in General and Acute Care Medicine. BPT trainees succeeding in passing the clinical RACP examinations may be offered the opportunity to smoothly transition into an Advanced Training (AT) positions within the hospital. These AT positions include Core General Medicine, Cardiology, Respiratory medicine, Neurology and Stroke, Renal medicine, and Gastroenterology.
