Job Description:

The Finance Lead for Africa based in Gauteng South Africa will strategically manage the financial operations of a mining technology manufacturing company. This role involves overseeing statutory and management reporting ensuring compliance with accounting standards and optimizing financial systems and processes. The Finance Lead will support strategic decisions handle tax requirements and evaluate investments and contracts to boost profitability. Key responsibilities also include enhancing financial governance and operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate will be a CA(SA) with profound Syspro ERP and IFRS expertise crucial for driving financial excellence in the mining technology sector.

Responsibilities:

• Produces regional management and financial statutory reporting requirements.
• Complies to the group reporting timetable processes and submission requirements
• Owns localised and regional financial systems and processes.
• Ensures compliance to the company’s accounting policy standard setting and governance.
• Provides finance business partnering support to its Geographic Assignment.
• Prepares all indirect tax requirements (VAT land tax payroll tax etc) excluding Withholding Tax.
• Supports Corporate Group Tax with tax disputes and obligations.
• Performs investment and contract approval evaluations for the region.
• Compliance to Safety Charter.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with companies’ SH&E policies.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• CA (SA) with 8 years of postqualification experience
• Strong business acumen and analysis skills (minimum 5 years commercial experience)
• Syspro ERP experience required
• Expertise in IFRS tax and transfer pricing
• Proven ability to improve profitability through projects and reviews
• Experience in bestpractice costing (e.g. base costs bills of material)
• Track record of implementing new business processes effectively
• Manufacturing/FMCG/Mining experience a plus
