Reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent in this fulltime role the successful candidate will lead a 3rd Shift maintenance crew of Millwrights Electricians Welders and Contractors. Higher consideration will be granted to those who have previous experience in the wood remanufacturing sector in a Sawmill Planer Mill or forest products.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Achieving Maintenance goals with the highest regard for employee safety;
Capable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met;
Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop and educate key metrics.
Maintenance Planning planning nonemergency maintenance coordinating PM routes;
Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions;
Managing conflicts
Maintenance of sawmill equipment (this includes but is not limited to DeBarkers Gang Edgers Trimmer Sorter Stacker Conveyors Chippers Blowers Hydraulic Systems and Pneumatic Systems)
Safety of the crew (LockOut Procedures Field Level Hazard & Risk Assessments (FLHRA) Safety Audits)
Training/mentoring apprentices
Creating and planning improvement projects
Managing parts with our purchaser

Here’s What You’ll Need
Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Well organized
Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience
Leadership and communication skills
Must successfully complete preemployment drug screen and background
