Overview:

The IB MYP Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). They are responsible for ensuring that the curriculum meets the IB MYP standards and guidelines and that the teaching staff are trained and supported in delivering highquality education within the framework. The IB MYP Coordinator is a key leader in the educational community collaborating with teachers administrators and parents to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation of the IB MYP curriculum
  • Facilitate professional development for teachers to ensure understanding of IB MYP principles
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of instructional materials and resources
  • Provide support to teachers in planning and delivering IB MYP curriculum
  • Collaborate with school leadership to align the IB MYP program with overall educational goals
  • Organize and oversee the assessment and reporting process
  • Supervise and mentor faculty to support effective IB MYP instruction
  • Stay updated on IB MYP standards and best practices through professional development
  • Establish and maintain communication with IB organization and other IB schools
  • Ensure compliance with IB MYP requirements and regulations
  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of IB MYP program effectiveness
  • Support the integration of technology in the IB MYP curriculum
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to attract new students to the IB MYP program
  • Participate in the budgeting and resource allocation process for the IB MYP program
  • Engage with parents to provide information and support for the IB MYP program

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education or related field
  • Masters degree in Education Curriculum Development or a related field preferred
  • Teaching certification or licensure
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience preferably within an IB MYP setting
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the IB MYP framework and principles
  • Leadership experience in an educational setting
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of assessment and reporting practices in IB MYP
  • Familiarity with educational technology integration
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in IB MYP
  • Experience working with international or multicultural student populations
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation processes
