Commercial Manager- Metals Trading

Lakeside HR Group is recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager Metals Trading in Milwaukee WI on behalf of our client. Our client is one of the nation's largest processors and marketers of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal with facilities and trading offices across the United States and operations in Europe. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the purchase and sale of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals at the location.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the purchase and sale of scrap metals at Milwaukee WI location. This position will be responsible for both ferrous and nonferrous trading.

• Solidify existing relationships with scrap metal suppliers and customers.

• Develop new relationships with scrap metal suppliers and customers.

• Work with the operations team to ensure the timely and efficient processing of scrap metals at the location.

• Conduct market research to identify trends pricing structures and potential business opportunities.

• Negotiate contracts pricing agreements and other terms for the purchase and sale of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals to maximize profitability and foster longterm relationships.

• Monitor and assess risks associated with scrap metal trading and develop strategies to protect against those risks.

• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• Knowledge of scrap metal grades and industry quality/grading standards by grade.

• Excellent negotiation skills.

• Strong understanding of market trends and dynamics.

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Extensive professional network of ferrous and/or nonferrous scrap metals suppliers and customers.

• Proven management experience within the scrap metal industry.

• Bachelor’s degree in business finance accounting or another related field.

• Highly organized and detailoriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
