Senior Engineer Cost Control

For a client of ours that is a software development agency we are searching for a freelance senior cloud engineer.

In their journey to deliver their newest Traffic Management System, the client is looking for a senior cloud engineer to build and maintain the cloud platform in Azure. The senior cloud engineer is responsible for deploying and monitoring cloud resources, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of our cloud infrastructure.

We are looking for a cloud engineer that has critical thinking skills, stays current with industry trends, and enjoys working in a team. You will be asked to be fulfill multiple roles: trusted advisor, teacher, and cloud expert to our DevOps teams and customers.

Requirements

• Collaborating with DevOps teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
  
• Help to define the cloud platform architectural vision and roadmap
  
• Maintain and optimize our Kubernetes Clusters.
  
• Maintain and optimize our monitoring platform.
  
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  
• Deploy and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
  
• Identifying, analyzing and resolving vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  
• Reviewing existing cloud resources and make recommendations for improvements.
  
• Interact with customers, providing support and making recommendations based on their needs.
  
  What we expect from you

• HBO or University Degree
  
• Preferably more than 5 years of work experience as a cloud engineer. It is important that you have hands-on experience with running a cloud platform in a production environment
  
• Hands-on experience in with either Azure, AWS, GCP.
  
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, or managed versions from Azure, AWS, GCP.
  
• Hands-on experience with setting up and maintaining monitoring solutions such as: Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Open Telemetry, or other monitoring tools.
  
• Hands-on experience with deploying and maintaining a hub-and-spoke network architecture.
  
• Hands-on experience with network security.
  
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD
  

If you also have knowledge and/or experience in the following areas, that is a huge plus:

• Experience with Code as Infrastructure such as HashiCorp Terraform.
  
• Azure Certifications: AZ-900 or AZ-104 or AZ-700.
  
• Experience with project management.
