Design Manager Hydraulic Cylinders

Position Summary:
Key individual contributor in the field of Hydraulic Cylinder design. Should be able to work independently to design
Assembly and Manufacturing drawings of Hydraulic Cylinders including design calculations. Should be competent in
using 3D software Inventor for creating 3D models and 2D drawings. Sould be aware of all the relevant standards and
practices used in the Hydraulic Cylinder industry

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Interaction with Customers Sales team Design and Supply Chain teams. No direct reports.

Essential Functions:
1. Analyse customer input specifications and performance requirements to determine manufacturability based on existing guidelines
2. Independently Design Hydraulic Cylinders using CAD (Inventor AutoCAD etc.) create 3D models 2D drawings based on the input specifications from customers and Parker standard design.
3. Document all the calculations and technical considerations used in creating the design
4. Create Assembly drawings and obtain customer approval and manufacturing clearance
5. Create and release manufacturing drawings per existing practice
6. Interact with customers and suppliers for resolving any technical issues testing requirements etc.
7. Support the Sales team by providing cost inputs for cylinders based on customer RFQ
8. Conduct routine analyses and/or tests to evaluate product designs methods materials or processes and complete required technical documentation by applying engineering principles and company standards and generating reports procedures or change proposals as required.
9. Adopt lean product development and standard engineering development and techniques.
10. Participate in Lean activities Kaizen 5S etc. and in High Performance CFTs

Job Requirements :
1. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Min. 5 years of experience in Hydraulic Cylinder Design.
3. Ability to work with MS Office (especially excel) CAD (Inventor Envoia etc.) experience preferred
4. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills; able to work independently
5. Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and customers
6. Understanding of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement
