Job Description:
Located in our beautiful Woodridge IL facility and reporting to the Chief Estimator. The Plumbing Estimator will assist in creating plan and spec plumbing estimates for our Commercial Plumbing Group.
Responsibilities:
- Quantify project components.
- Develop a clear understanding of the project scope and phasing utilizing the project plans and specifications.
- Maintain takeoff spreadsheets for organizing material descriptions and quantities back up of work and project summaries.
- Identifying constructability issues through the estimating process.
- Subcontractor and supplier solicitations.
- Able to work on multiple projects at a time change orders and tasks as necessary.
- Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimates.
- Analyze blueprints specifications proposals and other documents to prepare time cost and labor estimates for products projects and services for our type of work.
- Efficiently read blueprints and understand industry pricing.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors with 5 years of estimating commercial plumbing projects.
- Computer estimating software experience. QuickPen AutoBid experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (i.e. Word & Excel).
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Knowledge of Piping Plan Isometric and detail drawings.
- Graduate from recognized engineering or construction management program is an asset.
- A mix of field and office experience will be helpful.

Basic Requirements and Skills High School Diploma or GED Degree in related field preferrerd Certification from an accredited CAD program preferred High Technical aptitude At least 1 year experience with security and fire systems Must be able to obtain specified license/certifications to perform work in the security/fire alarm industry according to the rules and regulations prescribed by the State in which the branch operates. Valid driver s license and good driving record. Must understand and use battery drop and voltage drop calculation software. Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blueprints and project specifications, fire codes and/or government regulations Strong mathematical and problem solving skills
