The company is a solution provider with its own SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite constellation.
It constructs and operates a constellation through the development and operation of small SAR satellites generating and providing data. Using proprietary data analysis capabilities Synspective offers datadriven solutions to various global challenges.
The main business activities include the operation of a satellite constellation through the development manufacturing and launch of small SAR satellites and related systems. This encompasses the sale of acquired data and the development and sale of data analysis solutions.
Roles and Responsibility
About Dept. and Unit:
The Solutions Development Department at Synspective is responsible for developing models and algorithms which produce insights using multiple sources of data including our own satellite data. To do this we develop an analytics platform to produce geoscience insights efficiently and easily.
Responsibility:
- Design and develop infrastructure for Synspectives software solutions ensuring scalability reliability and security
- Develop and maintain a monitoring mechanism for our solutions
- Optimize Cloud usage costs and alerts
- Maintain infrastructure for data processing pipelines
- Design and implement infrastructure for new data processing
Deatails of work:
- Drive the architecture of the cloud infrastructure for our geoscience analytics platform with other SREs
- Ensure the safety and security of our cloud infrastructure
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and SREs
Selling points of the role:
- Learn and apply cloud infrastructure as it applies to satellite data and software.
- Be part of a venture to change the world through using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data
- Work with a group of driven engineers across multiple disciplines to achieve our goal of a learning world.

Scope of Change:
Inside the Solution Development Department
Minimum Requirements
- 3 years of experience as an SRE/DevOps
- Experience building customerfacing cloudnative systems on one of the major cloud providers using Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with Infrastructure as a code
- Good knowledge and experience with computer networking and SSL.
- Experience in SLA/SLO definition and implementation monitoring SLI
- Experience in setting up and maintaining monitoring for the companys software
- Experience in designing and developing microservices
- Experience working with Linux based systems
- Experience in software development for internal use (requirement gathering designing programming and maintenance) preferred languages: python and golang
- Experience in working in a team loosely following agile methodology
- Ability to exchange requirements and align with nonSRE teams
- Ability to communicate in English
Preferred Requirements
- Experience building infrastructure using Terraform
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Experience in managing a team of SREs or Engineers
- Experience in deploying and managing deep learning/MLbased solutions
- Experience in handling GIS/Map data and services
- Experience with python scripting and dependency management.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese
- Experience managing Argo workflows

- Based on experience ability and previous work experience

Hours: Flextime system
- Core time from 11:00 15:00
- 2 days off a week (weekends) including Japanese public holidays
- 10 days of paid time leave granted first year with an increment of 1 day every following year (ex. 11 days in the second year) up to a maximum in accordance with Japans labor laws.
Probation: 3 months
