Position: Medical Support Coordinator
Location: Minnesota (Remote)
Job description:
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Review analyze and complete reports based on departmental needs
- Collaborate across departments to ensure both member and provider needs are met
- Update member information in the system has needed
- Must maintain a strict standard of confidentiality to ensure that our members protected health information (PHI) is secure
- Update and maintain various Excel based reports
- Data entry of prior authorization information
- Conduct outbound calls to facilities and providers to obtain information as needed
- Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may vary from day to day depending on department needs and priorities
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Successful completion of the training provided
- Demonstrated skills as an empathetic and compassionate communicator
- Ability to quickly gain customer trust and confidence
- Demonstrated PC navigation and data entry skills; must be comfortable navigating multiple systems
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Quick learning with strong attention to detail and flexibility to work on various priorities that may vary day to day based on enterprise and department needs
- Positive professional serviceoriented behaviour.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity and understanding of Medical Terminology
- Previous office experience within a healthcare or health plan setting
