Certified Surgical Technician

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures
• Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures
• Ensure aseptic techniques are maintained throughout the surgical procedure
• Prepare patients for surgery including positioning and draping
• Monitor and ensure the availability of supplies and equipment in the operating room
• Assist in transferring patients to and from the operating room
• Provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies such as cardiac arrest or hemorrhage
• Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient care and safety
• Document and maintain records of surgical procedures
• Participate in the training and orientation of new staff
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and protocols

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Prior experience in a surgical setting
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods
• Capability to remain calm and focused in highpressure situations
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Current CPR certification
• Compliance with ethical and legal standards
• Adherence to patient confidentiality guidelines
