Job Description

Overview

The position of Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBG) at the Medical College is a key role responsible for leading the academic and clinical aspects of the department. The role is pivotal in shaping the curriculum conducting research and providing clinical guidance to students and staff. The Professor OBG plays a crucial part in upholding the medical colleges reputation for excellence in womens healthcare and academic prowess.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and mentoring medical students and residents in OBG principles and practices.
  • Developing and revising curriculum and educational materials.
  • Conducting and publishing research in relevant medical journals.
  • Supervising and participating in patient care within the OBG department.
  • Guiding and participating in clinical trials and studies.
  • Leading departmental meetings and contributing to strategic planning.
  • Participating in professional development and continuing medical education.
  • Maintaining active involvement in professional OBG associations and networks.
  • Engaging in community outreach and patient education programs.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and evaluation of faculty and staff.
  • Participating in administrative and governance activities within the medical college.
  • Collaborating with other medical departments on interdisciplinary research and initiatives.
  • Providing expert consultations to colleagues and healthcare professionals.
  • Ensuring compliance with medical standards and regulations.
  • Supervising and supporting students research projects and dissertations.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Proven experience in academic leadership and curriculum development.
  • A strong track record of published research in reputable medical journals.
  • Active license to practice medicine.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in OBG including surgical skills.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring medical students and residents.
  • Advocacy for womens health and wellbeing.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and multicultural academic environment.
  • Commitment to ethical and professional conduct in all activities.
  • Experience in grant writing and securing research funding.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
