This role must facilitate the productivity of Oakland fleet operations by training and onboarding new drivers maintaining shop and fleet inventory as well as purchase field equipment/parts to facilitate efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect all trucks and trailers for mechanical failures
- insure all trucks have proper equipment
- Insure safety and DOT qualifications
- purchase and stock parts and equipment
- Train and supervise new drivers
- keep trucks safe on the road and adhere to drivers need for repairs
- schedule and coordinate all repairs with maintenance dept
- Secure all disabled trucks to be transported back to base and properly repaired
- report to and follow different assignments from fleet Manager
- Ensure efficient and costeffective order fulfillment and delivery processes
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimize supply chain operations
- Implement and maintain effective tracking systems to monitor fleet performance and productivity
- Implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction
- Stay uptodate with industry trends and best practices in fleet management
Requirements
1. Bachelors degree in supply chain management logistics or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2. Proven experience in fleet management preferably in a distribution center or supply chain environment
3. Proven experience as a driver trainer
4. Strong knowledge of transportation planning supply chain operations and process improvement methodologies
5. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make datadriven decisions
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
