Firmware Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Participate in design development verification troubleshooting and delivery of high quality firmware
  
• Deliver resilient and robust designs lead and participate in technical discussions across engineering and product teams
  
• Participate in debugging improving fixing and managing existing firmware for IoT Gateway
  
• Work with the electrical team for hardware bring up and verification of new designs
  
• Work closely with the software and mobile teams for definition and implementation of new features and bug fixing
  
• Write lowlevel peripheral drivers needed for board and application bring up
  

Requirements:

• 34 years of experience in software development on Embedded Linux based systems
  
• Proficient in C/C and Object Oriented Design/Architecture
  
• knowledge of IEEE802.11 WiFi protocols (801.11s is good to have)
  
• knowledge of wireless protocols e.g. Zwave LTE CAT M1 BLE and ZigBee
  
• Should have strong handson experience in Linux application and system programming
  
• Should have prior experience with WIFI solutions from one or more WiFi chipset vendors
  
• Good handson experience with IPC Socket Programming Multithreaded Programming Process Management on Linux
  
• Well versed with Linux internals OS concepts opensource software tools
  
• Experience working with network stacks and protocols such as TCP/IP DHCP MQTT etc.
  
• Experience of working with one or more static analysis tools
  
• Experience of WiFi driver development is good to have
  
• Knowledge of OpenSSL library Linux wireless utilities and Linux Kernel development
  
• Ability to work well independently and in close collaboration with a remote team
  

Preferred:

• Knowledge and experience in working on IoT Gateways is huge plus
  
• Deep knowledge of electrical concepts and comfortable reading hardware schematics Datasheets and debugging hardware at a board level
  
• Prior experience with AWS IoT SDK OpenWRT WiFi is plus
  
• Familiarity or experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and practices
  
• Passion for mentorship and a strong desire to lead a technical team
  
• Experience with different WiFi SoC from MediaTek Qualcomm etc.
  
• Experience working with compliance and labs for device certification (FCC/CE/ETSI etc.)
