Job Description:
VoloDiscovery Labs a fastpaced Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to providing toptier services to global clients is seeking a dynamic and detailoriented individual to join our team as an Executive in the Logistics Department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the endtoend logistics operations ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products to meet project timelines and client expectations. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks including customs clearance transportation management coordination with freight partners and planning for shipping activities both domestically and internationally.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Customs Clearance:
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements for export and import shipments.
- Facilitate the timely clearance of goods through customs authorities.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all customsrelated activities.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Resolve any customsrelated issues to prevent delays in the supply chain.
- Transportation Management:
- Plan and optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with carriers and logistics service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor the performance of transportation services and address any issues that may impact delivery schedules.
- Implement best practices in transportation management to enhance overall logistics operations.
- Freight Partners:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with freight partners including carriers and shipping companies.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with freight partners to ensure costeffective and reliable services.
- Collaborate with freight partners to track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays or damages.
- Evaluate and onboard new freight partners to expand and enhance the logistics network.
- Shipping Planning (Domestic & International):
- Develop and implement effective shipping plans for both domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor and analyze shipping performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on international shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
- Implement best practices for efficient and costeffective shipping.
- Develop contingency plans for unexpected disruptions in shipping schedules.
Requirements
- Education: MBA/Diploma in Logistics Management or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience of 35 years in a logistics or supply chain management role preferably within the pharmaceutical or research industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to optimize logistics processes.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements. Knowledge of customs regulations and international shipping practices.
- Initiative and ProblemSolving: Initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in import/export activities and procedures.
