Job Title: Financial Controller
Job Summary:
The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the financial activities of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective internal controls. This role involves strategic financial planning, budgeting, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to senior management.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and oversee the budgeting process.
- Provide financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Monitor and report on budget vs. actual performance.
3. Internal Controls:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Safeguard company assets through risk management strategies.
4. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide insights into business performance and trends.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
5. Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external tax advisors.
- Prepare and file tax returns in a timely manner.
- Optimize tax strategies to minimize the organization's tax liability.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
7. Audit Coordination:
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of required documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA designation is often preferred).
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
