Cloud Observability Engineer needs 5+ years combined with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud
Cloud Observability Engineer requires:
- Understands Cloud Application Performance Monitoring & Observability.
- Locations; Iselin, NJ, Chicago, IL, NY, NY, Charlotte, NC
- Experience with Implementing Splunk Observability Suite or SignalFx
- Experience with Splunk Enterprise/ Splunk cloud
- Experience in integrating SignalFx and Splunk
- OpenTelemetry implementation or consulting experience
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring - cloud , containers - examples OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS EKS
- Experience in metric-based onboarding along with Splunk Observability, like Telemetry data
- Knowledge of AWS platform including CloudWatch, Xray, S3, and CloudTrail
- Hands on Experience in supporting Splunk Operator on Container platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Ability to write regex to perform field extractions at search time.
- Experience writing Splunk Enterprise / Splunk Cloud queries to create complex Splunk dashboard to detect and illustrate capacity trends, constraints, and risks
- Familiarity with Regex, shell scripting, Ansible, Python, REST or API Calls, GIT, JSON, XML, web technologies
- Hands-on support of Windows, Linux in large, enterprise environment
- Superior communication and presentation skills
Industry experience
- 5+ years combined with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud
- 2+ years in SignalFX
- 2+ years in OpenTelemetry
- 3+ years with UNIX / Windows Engineering
- 2+ years with scripting (python, shell, Ansible)
- 2+ years in integration of web technologies (SDKs, REST, JSON, XML, etc.)
- 2+ years designing/supporting platforms with multi-site and/or highly available designs
Nice to have experience
- Splunk training and/or certifications in power user/administration - a major plus
- AWS practitioner certifications - a plus
- Exposure to BigFix, Java programming - a plus
- Familiarity with Ansible
- Exposure to Moogosft, Dynatrace, Cribl, Datadog - a valued plus

Cloud Observability Engineer duties:
- Establish, enhance a data driven observability IT platform for full-fidelity real-time monitoring of infrastructure , applications, microservices, containers and user interfaces.
- Detect errors, latencies, anomalies, performance degradations, problems before users and customers are impacted
- Map problems, errors in applications, microservices to owners of these apps, services
- Establish a continuous /automated process to use application logs, traces and metrics to detect and report service performance issues
- Partnering with other cross-functional teams for issue identification and driving them to resolution utilizing Splunk and other monitoring platforms
- Work closely with UNIX, Linux, and Windows server administration teams to diagnose and resolve configuration issues
- Training/User Support for Splunk platform and other monitoring components
- Use collaboration tools to organize, collaborate, document , share knowledge of work
