This is a remote position.

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to join our team As a SQL Server DBA you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems
Manage SQL Server databases
Configure and maintain database servers and processes
Monitor system's health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
Gather requirements, provide suggestions for solutions
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
Process Enhancements - SQL Server DBAs should be skilled at developing more efficient processes for handling and accessing data, automating recurring tasks, and performing routine maintenance
Requirements
The SQL Server DBA combines analytical and leadership roles to successfully meet organizations' data management and access needs.
SQL Server DBAs should have at least a bachelor's degree, a background working with SQL servers, and the following skills
10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory
Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company s success
Experience working in Azure
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills; Team player; Good time-management skills; Great interpersonal and communication skills
Benefits
Project is initially for 6 months and there are chances of extension for another 6 months.
The candidate has to work during the EST Time zone of USA
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Experience developing software in C#, Java, C++, or similar language Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell or Python Solid debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills: Working with observability systems Ability to conduct analytics on telemetry Create reports based on the collected data Ability to drive root-cause analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work cross team and collaborate with others PREFERRED SKILLS Experience with developing large-scale distributed services Familiarity with Azure internal operation and architecture DevOps experience Solid understanding of .NET stack, C#, OOP Knowledge of computer hardware (MB/CPU/GPU/FPGA/Storage, etc.) and system, e.g., BIOS/PXE boot, device firmware Understanding of network principles, e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VNET, load balancing, etc. A BA or MS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
