JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A SERVICE DESK ENGINEER

Our client is a successful leading Business Process Outsourcing Industry that provides dedicated remote staff and offshore staffing service with a smart choice when it comes to outsourcing staff in the Philippines. They offer loyal, motivated staff at a low cost and flexible solutions to suit any budget. We are looking for a Service Desk Engineer, this role offers the opportunity to work for an outstanding client providing diverse workload servicing a range of professional clients. Our ideal candidate has a good level of knowledge in computer software and hardware and a hands-on experience with a different variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The role will suit an efficient, customer-focused IT professional looking to grow with the company as they expand their national presence.


To be a Service Desk Engineer:

Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar discipline is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years proven work experience and track record in technical support or similar role is strongly preferred.
Excellent English communication and written skills.
Excellent support skills.
Familiarity with one or more modern coding and programing languages.
Extensive understanding of hardware, software, and network development principles.
In-depth knowledge of software prototyping tools.
Proven hand-on experience and solid knowledge of how different applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
Extensive knowledge of relational database systems, object-oriented programming, and software/application development.
Proven hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools.
Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines with business insight.
Strong critical thinking, resourcefulness, diligence, attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Skilled in multi-tasking and can work unsupervised.
Reliable and committed to meeting deadlines.
Works well under pressure.
Personable and pleasant to staff.
A keen attention to detail and strives for accuracy.

Your Responsibilities as a Service Desk Engineer:

Deliver exceptional customer service support to a variety of environments.
Provide support for a mix of servers, workstations, applications, and Microsoft 365 environments.
Liaise with a range of users, suppliers, software, and hardware vendors to ensure an optimal outcome for our clients.
Ensure end-to-end ownership on support requests, providing regular updates to stakeholder until resolution.
Ensure all actions and resolutions are documented within our ticketing system.
Contribute to the upkeep of client documentation and knowledge base articles for common issues encountered.
Escalate to senior team members/leaders when required.
Other tasks as directed by senior team members/leaders.
