Job Description
- The IT Technical Support Assistant will be responsible for performing the
maintenance and upkeep of computer equipment; assists in the administration of
computer networks, supporting users in the areas of hardware and software,
including assembly, repair and settings.
Essential Functions (main responsibilities):
- Provide assistance in the first level of support to the end user and ensure
working through the Central Service Desk support for all the User tickets; - Provide support to computer users, assembly, setting up andconfiguration of equipment and software from users, as well as carry outrepairs;
- Inventory control of existing hardware and software, Register new starters and follow up maintenance contracts and warranty periods;
- Provide training for users in the available applications, providing support in solving problems;
- Contact software suppliers for troubleshooting of acquired applications;
- Make OS setup (Windows 7,Windows 8, Windows 10 and all future OS releases, perform network printer setup, software installation and configuration (package Microsoft Office 365, browsers,ERP systems), and setup networked computers (Kaseya platform) or any other new tool sets which are introduced at the site.
- Equipment assembly and deployment of the systems used, as well provide training for the users;
- Receive and organize all equipment into the IT department stock, testing and selecting parts for use in the computer equipment park;
- Ensure internal computer cleaning, printers basic maintenance, as internal cleaning, toners change,cartridges, fuser rollers and rubber;
- Work with the global asset manager and participate in the review process of new software and applications software procurement at the local level;
- Ensure equipment maintenance and conservation;
- Make backups and other security procedures of stored data;
- Create and implement restriction procedures of access and use of network, such as passwords, drives elimination, etc.;
- Install update software and make other adaptations / modifications to improve equipment performance;
- Participate in the analysis of parts / accessories and computer materials requiring specification or configuration;
- Prepare monitoring reports of the technical work done;
Requirements
Qualifications (education, experience and skills):
- College Education, preferably in Engineering or Management;
- Professional training in negotiation skills;
- 5 years of experience in IT Support dealing with a manufacturing environment (Preferred);
- Experience dealing with third party vendors and strong vendor management skills
- ITIL Certification (Preferred)
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret data and make decisions;
- Customer and results oriented;
- Self-driven, dynamic and autonomous;
- Organizational and planning skills;
- Good communication, negotiation and persuasion skills;
- IT literate (e-mail, Microsoft Excel, internet);
