Cloud Database Administrator (m/f/d)

As a Cloud Database Administrator, you feel at home when you see complex Database queries and instinctively want to optimize them. You always see the cons and pros of using different Database structures and wants to explore the cutting-edge multi-regional and distributed database technologies such as AWS Aurora and RDS. You feel comfortable consulting and advising your fellow developers on how to optimize their applications to take advantage of high-performance databases and not afraid to use full automated pipelines to handle your daily tasks. Your mission

• Perform database administration (PostgreSQL) services including SQL code review, performance analysis , query tuning, database application design and data modelling
• Build and configure database instances including database security, high availability and disaster recovery
• Manage standby clusters and backup/restore processes
• Configure and tune software to ensure optimum performance and resource utilisation
• Develop scripts , procedures and processes for data migration and application development
• Manage proper access levels for both applications and employees
• Guide development teams on high-performance usage of Database and their Application implementations
• Monitoring and incident handling on Database solutions existing on On-Premise and AWS environments

Your profile

• At least 5 years of experience in complex database environment supporting multiple production databases (PostgreSQL)
• Expert level SQL, PL/pgSQL, including procedures , functions, triggers and views
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL support for json
• Knowledge of database design principles, table partitioning, query optimisation, index management, integrity checks and isolation levels
• Hands-on knowledge on AWS RDS solutions(PostgreSQL, Aurora, Athena) and Elasticache/DynamoDB is a big plus
• Good understanding of AWS Backup services and Storage concepts
• Experience working with time series databases
• Good to have - experience with load balancers for PostgreSQL like PgPool.
