Job Description
- Administers, monitors and continuously ensures that all operations conform to safety requirements and maintain high safety standards.
- Assists the APM to monitor the progress of the machinery jobs repair or manage independently whenever the APM is not around.
- Improves the department’s operation procedures through constant innovation.
- Handles mechanical trouble-shooting in the workshop.
- Plans and monitors the annual manpower budget and cost control for the department.
- Provides assistance to the foremen in the Dimensional and Inspection charts and calculations.
- Monitors department’s cost at the lowest level but to achieve a higher profit level.
- Liaises with owner’s representative, surveyor, and personnel from other department, project manager/project engineer and contractors
- Raises CM39 for normal or specialized works.
- Ensures that rate of accidents in the shop is kept at the lowest.
- Represents the department as the ISO 9001 representative and to ensure all ISO 9001 requirements are met.
- Represents the department in the Productivity meeting to discuss about the annual budget for purchase of equipment and tools, suggestion scheme and the productivity performance indicator.
- In charge of the in-house calibration of I.M.T.E.
- Ensure the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.
- Ensure that Health, Safety & Environmental operating procedures are followed and counsel employees about compliance as necessary.
- Participate in the preparation of Safe work, Environmental control and Emergency procedures.
- Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) plans are followed.
- Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
