ART & DESIGN TEACHER

* Develop the art programme within the MYP framework and align with specified course standards
* Satisfy IB MYP requirements in terms of planning, teaching and learning
* Satisfy the seven ACS teacher appraisal standards
* Differentiate student needs
* Collaborate within the department to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment
* Present exhibitions to share student achievements and to prepare for the G12 exhibition
* Work collaboratively with the DP/HS art teacher
* Follow the MYP Coordinator's aim of including Art as an option for the Grade 10 MYP Assessment Certificate (this will be achieved by preparing a G10 portfolio)
* Develop the requisite expertise to ensure the above
* Be prepared to attend internal and external workshops to build competence
* Develop relationships with the wider art community (for example other MYP schools, partner colleges and universities, national galleries and organisations)
* Take art beyond the classroom through engaging with and visiting galleries, museums and exhibitions
* Integrate the art department in relevant whole school events
