Projects’ Responsible Person on all Mechanical Engineering aspects of Static and Rotating Equipment plus HSE related issues on existing and future facilities.
Will provide excellent; Client, vendor and Financial Team liaison
Take part in audits, inspections and safety observation tours.
Giving clear direction to overcome or design out mechanical issues
Create a register of equipment tags and daughter tags for identifying all items of equipment for entry into CMMS and P&ID’s
Review current P&ID’s and where there are inaccuracies or omissions, ensure accurate, updated and authorised copies are produced for your discipline area of expertise.
Ensure adherence to; and implementation of, Management of Change Procedure from inception to Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning.
Direction on day to day mechanical priorities to Shutdown Team Supervision and support for prompt execution of all projects pertaining to the Mechanical Engineer position.
Apply solid engineering judgement at all times and ensure BP’s current and future codes, procedures and standards are adhered to.
Periodically review Mechanical work permit effectiveness. Provide guidance to correct anomalies as required.
Assess, mentor on competency / implement training needs of mechanical discipline personnel.
Investigation Team member for HSE incidents.
Communicate mechanical instructions on; and confirm full understanding to prevent repetition of Near Miss incidents
Periodic reviews and revisions of Checklists pertaining to the position
Consider needs and engineer solutions to enhance maximum plant availability and integrity of equipment.
Provide guidance to the Planning Team Leader and Procurement Coordinator
Compile / distribute comprehensive reports.
Contribute to Management Team handovers on request.
Compile mechanical handovers pre / post field breaks.
Fully support the clients’ Materials Maintenance Management System.
Detailed knowledge and experience of Rotating and Static equipment is required.
