You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJOB SUMMARY The CSSD Technician receives and processes incoming supplies &equipment, performs cleaning and sterilizing duties, prepares packs of supplies, linens and instruments in central supply services as directed. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains established departmental policies &procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Operates and maintains machines as per manufacturer guideline and Hospital standards. Decontaminates instruments, supplies and equipment according to established policies& procedures. Cleans, assembles, wraps and sterilizes instruments, equipment, instrument trays and supplies as required Handles and stores instruments, equipment and supplies appropriately. Distributes supplies and equipment to units in a timely fashion. Maintains an adequate supply of packs and supplies to meet area needs including inventory control, inspection of linen and labeling of packages. Inspects and reports of items with functionality defects and breakage. Performs biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards. Maintains the cleanliness of work areas as required. Reports on adverse occurrences, if any, as per the Hospital policy. Participates in educational programs and in-service lectures/workshops. Attends unit meetings and as required. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education : High School or equivalent degree. Formal training as CSSD technician Licensing : Valid License from Ministry of Health-Kuwait to practice as CSSD Technician. Experience : 2 years' experience in Central Supply operations Other Skills Technical Skills: Knowledge of different medical instruments related to different nursing procedures. Acquainted with sterilization technique, safety measures, good hygiene, environmental sanitation, and infection control standards. Administrative Skills: Ability to Multi-Task, Assess, Organize, Prioritize, Work under Pressure without supervision and take Initiative; Self Motivated, Flexible and Adaptable. Soft Skills : Good communication and Inter-personal skills. Computer Skills : Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet and Hospital MIS Language Skills: Good in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage
