The main responsibility would be :
- To carry out pre-underwriting surveys in respect of Property and Engineering risks.
- To carry out a comprehensive assessment of the risk at hand in terms of:
- Details of ownership (owned/rented/details of owners/financial interest)
- Details of subsisting and overlapping insurance
- Age & Type of Construction (RCCJ Timber, Board etc)
- Type of business (Trading, manufacturing, General occupancy, interest insured etc.)
- Highlight salient features of the risk, identify potential hazards (physical and moral hazards)
- If manufacturing (full details of process), details of housekeeping, etc
- Details of location including surrounding property
- Fire safety measures (fire extinguishers etc) & Fire Detection Systems
- To sight and obtain Trade Licenses Civil Defense Approvals, Etc.,
- To make recommendations following discussions & consultation with HOD/Underwriter
- For improvement of the risk,
- Acceptance of the risk
- Accept with subjectivities (follow up essential)
- Decline
- To maintain a database for all surveys conducted (reports and photographs)
- Carry out non-motor claims surveys, as requested
Experience & Qualification required
- University graduate with a degree in Engineering or any other related discipline.
- Good knowledge of the insurance sector with at least 3-5 years' experience in non-motor surveys,
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Good written & verbal communication skills in English.
