Location:Cairo, Egypt
Duration: 24 Months
Job Overview
The Teaching Centres in Egypt run three YL terms of 10 weeks each through the year, followed by intensive courses in the summer months. In addition, there are 8 Adult terms of 5 weeks each through the year. Teachers are contracted to teach 25 contact hours per week - including breaks taken during each class. The timetable means that most teachers teach either over 5 days each week or 4 days with 1 (non-teaching) workday. YL classes run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Young Learner courses are delivered across all three life stages – Early Years, Primary and Secondary. Early Years classes are currently delivered in our Agouza and Heliopolis centres. The Adult programme is primarily General English with some Conversation and IELTS preparation classes, as well as extra skills sessions which students can attend alongside their regular classes.
Role Purpose
To ensure the British Council maintains its reputation as the highest quality provider of English Language Teaching by providing effective support to the management of Egypt Young Learner products and services, making a contribution to the development and expansion of the YL business.
