Key duties and responsibilities
The Program Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of largescale programs by managing schedules resources risks and stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Executive Team the role ensures program alignment with strategic business objectives.
The Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) will provide centralised technical support functions through the standardisation of technical controls policies processes and provision of consistent governance and assurance.
The TPMO Governance and Control support team will review and allocate TPMO resources across MPI projects as required including attendance at project inception and project control group meetings.
MPI projects are to be delivered in accordance with the MPI TPMO Design Management Guide. The Guide will be provided to the Supplier as part of Work Order startup.
MPI has two centralised offices that support delivery of projects. They are the Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) and the System Delivery Management Office (SDMO).
The TPMO will provide the following key functions:
- Solution governance and assurance
- Baseline management (schedule finance solution)
- Change control
- Reporting
- Solution governance and assurance
- Engineering governance and assurance
- Test governance and assurance
- ITSM governance and assurance
- Security assessment
- Security governance and assurance
Requirements

- Proficiency aligned with PGMG Level 6 SFIA 7.
- Relevant qualifications in Project Management Business Administration or related fields.
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project Jira or similar.
- Previous Defence experience is highly regarded
- NV2 Security Clearance
- Lead the planning and of complex programs.
- Develop and manage program roadmaps milestones and budgets.
- Ensure all projects within the program meet quality and compliance standards.
- Monitor program performance and report on progress to senior management.
- Engage with stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve conflicts.
- Identify and mitigate risks to program success.
- Foster a culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the work of project managers within the program.
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with priorities.
- Drive the adoption of program management best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
