Job Description
Korzen Health is seeking a fulltime Traveling Physician to join our team. This position will provide coverage to Healogics Wound Care Centers and Skilled Nursing Facilities in the following markets: Chicago IL greater Illinois and may provide in Indiana/Michigan markets.
For over 25 years Healogics has been treating patients with chronic wounds from over 600 hospitalbased wound care centers across the country. Currently Healogics treats over 300000 wound care patients annually and has healed nearly 4 million wounds. Healogics is the worlds leading expert in wound healing.
This position is based in our outpatient wound care clinics and or our market of SNFs. The scope of work is dedicated to procedural wound care. Our center operating hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no nights oncall duties or weekend work. All patients are seen by appointment only; walkins are not accepted. Our clinics are integrated within existing Hospitals and the physician will be employed by Healogics.
This is a procedureoriented environment primarily serving geriatric patients. The successful candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in their core specialty and possess a strong procedural background. Recent experience with procedures such as suturing incision and drainage (I&D) or other types of procedures is required and procedural case logs will be requested as part of the credentialing process. Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy training are available. A full clinical team will be in place from the start date.
Scope of Practice Highlights
- Full Team support includes Case Manager Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Nurses Office Manager and Front/Back End Support
- We offer advanced woundcare treatments to promote healing including: Cellulitis therapy compression therapy hyperbaric oxygen therapy infection management and prevention wound cleaning and wound dressing.
- Teams will average approximately 12 to 22 patient encounters per day with a majority receiving wound care and less than 5% receiving Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM totaling 40 hours per week. There are no night shifts oncall responsibilities or weekend hours.
There is opportunity for growth into leadership positions.
- We have flexibility in the locations and durations of coverage for our programs. The schedule will be built out well in advance.
Regional travel is required.
Travel expenses will be covered
Experience Requirements
MD or DO degree
Must be BoardCertified
Must currently possess a clear and active Medical License and a DEA License in more than one US state.
