Job Description

Olsson provides construction management administration and observation services for various types of projects to assure that work is performed in conformance with project documents. Our construction services include daily observation / inspection project documentation submittal review design support shop drawing review payment application review payroll review and oversight for materials testing. We provide technically qualified personnel for our clients specific project requirements.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Industrial Construction Manager to oversee and direct contracts for our evergrowing confidential clients across our firms footprint. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background or understanding of all aspects of project construction from civil structural electrical and/or mechanical systems as well as automation systems. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of managing construction projects within the industrial manufacturing sectors including any of the following sectors: agricultural products food processing chemical processing petrochemical and general manufacturing. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all aspects of construction activities within the plant.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of contractors ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee the installation maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems within the plant.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and specifications.
  • Develop construction schedules for overall plant shutdowns and individual product line downtimes. 
  • Monitor project progress identify potential issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 This position includes:

  • The use of a company truck for transportation to and from job site(s). 
  • Applicable PPE (personal protective equipment) provided.
  • Work boot reimbursement program.
  • Company issued laptop.
  • Cell phone reimbursement options.

This role will include being onsite at various confidential project site and will require significant travel. The employees home base can be located in either Des Moines IA; Kansas City MO; Omaha NE; Little Rock AR; or Dallas TX. 


Qualifications :

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Bachelors degree in construction management engineering or other applicable field.
  • A minimum of eight 8 years of experience in construction observation or construction inspection in the industrial or food manufacturing sector.  
  • This opportunity requires up to 100 travel.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving history.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • OSHA 10 certified preferred but not required
  • Can be a licensed professional engineer (PE).
