Job Description

As the Logistics Coordinator you will be responsible for executing competitive logistic solutions while working closely with customers and suppliers. You will be scheduling and monitoring shipments from facilities obtaining necessary documents and maintaining good working relationships with ocean carriers as well as trucking companies.

You will support and help in managing all communications related to international ocean freight. You will need to ensure timely & accurate shipping customs & trade documentation & maximize efficiency in the inbound freight process.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions and ensure that systems are updated
  • Assist in data entry of orders shipments and transfers.
  • Assist with the management of warehouse shipments and receipts.
  • Update tracking tools to monitor KPIs and performance.
  • Prepare and track distribution load out reports & other shipping documents.
  • Provide followup for outstanding orders in collaboration with shipping dispatch and buying teams.
  • Coordinate bookings with freight forwarders
  • Closely monitor & follow up on shipments
  • Update shipment status issue arrival notices
  • Handle ocean import/export freight documents/provide customs broker with documentation
  • Verification of OBL & payment requirements prior to shipment release; chasing documents when required
  • Track and report any extra costs such as demurrage detention exam fees etc.
  • Review/Reconcile freight invoices
  • Communicate and respond promptly to all incoming freight inquiries (internally and from business partners both domestic and overseas) in order to properly manage and control daily operations
  • Analyze data and improve efficiencies where needed
  • Creating follow up and resolving supplier / shipping claims
  • Duty Free documents tracking for countries with free trade agreement

What do you bring to the role

  • Experience with measuring instruments; knowledge of materials especially furniture is a plus
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized with efficient work ethic
  • Advanced user of MS Office
  • Must be resourceful and well organized with an ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

 

Compensation: Generally the hiring range for this position is $50000 to $60000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills experience internal and market equity.

Qualifications :

  • Inventory reconciliation experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • High attention to detail able to prioritize and multitask selfmotivated and committed to getting the job done.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and support others in similar job functions.
  • Intermediate MS Excel knowledge required

 


Additional Information :

Physical demands that are required include mobility (walking standing climbing bending etc. and manual material handling (lifting pushing pulling carrying etc.. Movement of product by use of ladders and stock pickers is required.
