Job Description

Position: Import & Logistics expert

Location: Medley FL

Duration: Fulltime

Salary: DOE

Description:

The client is looking for a Logistics and Import/Export Specialist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import operations particularly sea freight and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the movement of goods internationally. This role ensures the timely delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Management:

    • Plan coordinate and monitor the movement of goods both domestically and internationally.
    • Select appropriate transportation methods to ensure costeffective and timely delivery.
    • Build and maintain relationships with freight forwarders carriers and other logistics partners.
  • Import/Export Operations:

    • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
    • Collaborate with customs brokers to facilitate smooth clearance processes.
  • Compliance and Documentation:

    • Stay uptodate on import/export regulations tariffs and trade agreements.
    • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation and recordkeeping for audits and compliance purposes.
  • ProblemSolving:

    • Resolve issues related to delays damages or discrepancies in shipments.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 45 years of experience in Import & Logistics.
  • Sea Freight experience is essential.
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics International Trade or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws Incoterms and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational problemsolving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of free trade agreements and tariff classifications.
  • Experience handling perishable or hazardous goods (if applicable).
  • Bilingual to effectively liaise with global partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook).

MustHaves:

  • Heavy import experience (export experience is not required).
  • Sea Freight experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Bilingual abilities.
