ISN is actively seeking Environmental Health and Safety Subject Matter Experts to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Directorate Division. Subject Matter Experts will review evaluate analyze and report on detention environments and procedures to control eliminate and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical physical and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Additionally ensure the health and safety of individuals in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Duties for this role will also include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct assessments of ICE detention facilities and review evaluate and prepare detailed reports based on observations and findings regarding environmental health and safety issues encountered.
Provide recommendations based on ICE detention standards and relevant federal laws and regulations to help ICE and facility staff address identified issues of noncompliance.
Provide real time technical assistance and guidance on environmental health and safety to applicable facility personnel to improve operations and resolve outstanding deficiencies.
Responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the program in assessing facility compliance with relevant standards and policies related to general health safety food service.
Ensure reports address services and programming for a detained population and in accordance with ICE detention standards.
Qualifications :
Active DHS clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) trained or certified
US Citizenship is required (required by the federal government for this position)
Must be able to travel to various locations nationwide to perform onsite investigations for several consecutive days
Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with deployed teams under the direction of program management
Experience:
Five 5 years of experience working with issues relating to care activities programming and services at detention correctional or other secure custodial facilities.
Investigative monitoring or quality control experience that is related to or has a nexus to experience in corrections and detention operations or other secure custodial facilities.
Interview skills both direct and via thirdparty translators; and Superior writing and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate experience reviewing large amounts of documentary evidence in short timeframes and provide oral briefings written reports and training under tight timelines.
