Job Description
The Sr. Welding Engineer will be responsible for technical development and application of all welding operations within the organization. This includes developing and implementing welding procedures ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations conducting quality control inspections and providing technical expertise and support to the welding team and to the engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding processes materials and equipment as well as excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the welding team including troubleshooting welding issues and providing guidance on welding techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments such as design estimations and supply chain to ensure welding requirements are met.
- Train and mentor welding technicians and operators on proper welding techniques safety procedures and equipment operation.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure welds meet specified standards and requirements.
- Develop and maintain welding documentation including weld maps inspection reports and welder qualifications.
- Monitor and evaluate welding equipment and tools and recommend upgrades or replacements.
- Research implement and execute the most suitable welding techniques materials and equipment for projects and continuous improvement.
- Write up return on investment (ROIs) for recommended weld implementations.
- Create estimated hours recommended weld sequence & weld processes from engineering drawings.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Indepth knowledge of welding processes techniques materials and equipment.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to welding such as AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings specifications and welding symbols.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot welding issues and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams and communicate technical information to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of health safety and environmental regulations related to welding operations.

Qualifications :
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Welding Engineering Materials Science or a related field.
- Minimum of seven 7 years of experience in welding engineering or a related role.
Licenses or Certifications Required
- Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is preferred.
