Job Description

Job Title:     FPGA Engineer Consultant

Location:     Cambridge United Kingdom

Contract:     Permanent

Breakthrough technology is vital for strengthening the UKs Defence and Homeland Security. As an FPGA Engineer at Awerian you will be at the forefront of this innovation race to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats. 

 

Your work will have a realworld impact. You will get to explore pioneering concepts by collaborating with elite multidisciplinary teams of highly educated and skilled scientists engineers and designers. Youll see ideas become a reality as you create prototypes through Awerians rapid approach to design and implementation. Its a fantastically challenging varied and agile role.

 

As an FPGA Consultant you will get to tackle diverse realworld challenges from the ground up. Typically this will involve going through the whole product life cycle youll capture design develop document test and deliver through to the prototype production. Awerians wide variety of intriguing projects from proofofconcept through to working prototypes provide both intellectual and practical challenges.

 

Requirements

You will ideally have 3 years relevant experience working in FPGA firmware development (in VHDL/Verilog using a toolchain such as Vivado / Quartus) have a proven track record of design and implementation of technological solutions and hold a relevant degree. Experience in developing Digital Signal Processing algorithms is highly advantageous. 

 

In addition experience in any of the following is desirable: 

  • DSP/system modelling in MATLAB/Simulink 
  • Electronics development 
  • Embedded software development (typically with C/C and Linux expertise) 
  • RADAR or communications applications 
  • Software Defined Radios (SDRs) 

 You will also have a track record of academic excellence hold a relevant degree and have proven technical capabilities including the design and development of technology solutions.

 

We are keen to hear from FPGA Engineers with experience from diverse industry backgrounds but previous experience in the defence sector is an advantage.
