Job Description
The Safety & Security Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of uniformed Safety & Security Officers and Supervisors engaged in executing CFI Inc.s Security and Safety program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hire and screen team members.
- Implement and manage governmentmandated safety and security programs (such as bloodborne pathogen and hazardous communications training).
- Organize and manage all departmentgenerated records.
- Establish daily procedures and responsibilities for safety and security personnel.
- Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an ongoing safety inspection program.
- Create policies and procedures to maintain a proactive and contemporary risk management program.
- Direct and/or conduct internal criminal and civil investigations and serve as a liaison to law enforcement and emergency services personnel.
- Act as a point of contact and liaison for OSHA and other government health and safety organizations.
- Coordinate and/or conduct team member health safety and security training programs in collaboration with the corporate risk management division.
- Maintain membership in professional organizations relevant to the risk management field.
- Manage interdepartmental safety and security programs revising or reorganizing them as needed.
- Fulfill the duties of any subordinate manager in their absence.
- Represent the General Manager or other corporate representatives as directed.
- Serve as a task force coordinator for events requiring specialized security services (such as dignitary protection or special events).
- Act as the facilitator and chairperson of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.
- Be on call and available to respond to incidents 24 hours a day.
- Respond to critical incidents and assume control of incident scenes.
- Serve as a media relations representative as directed by the General Manager.
- Administer progressive disciplinary actions to subordinate team members as required by corporate policy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directs and coordinates the activities of two subordinate managers and thirty or more line team members.
Qualifications :

Current or previous certification and experience as a public safety official (law enforcement or fire service) are preferred.
Education and Experience
- Fifthyear college or university program certificate or
- Two to four years of related experience and/or training or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Additional certification from a governmentapproved public safety training facility.
Language Skills
- Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and boards of directors.
