The client is a fullservice law firm offering services in more than a dozen practice areas. The firm is seeking a litigation attorney to join our Cleveland Ohio office. Job Overview:
The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated and detailoriented Litigation Associate with 38 years prior experience in commercial litigation. He or she will have a strong background in litigation excellent analytical and writing skills and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients. As an Associate you will assist in all aspects of litigation including case preparation discovery drafting depositions trial preparation and client communication. Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in Ohio.
- 38 years of experience in litigation with a focus on commercial litigation.
- Strong research writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate with clients.
- A detailoriented and organized approach to work.
- A proactive and problemsolving mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with all Microsoft Office and 365 and Outlook.
- Experience in legal research software such as Lexis Nexis/Westlaw or other.
- Strong interest in developing and growing a litigation practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of case strategies from inception to resolution.
- Draft pleadings motions briefs answers discovery requests as well as participating in the development of a strategy for written and deposition discovery and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and litigation tactics.
- Represent clients in hearings depositions and settlement negotiations.
- Manage discovery including preparing and responding to document requests subpoenas and interrogatories.
- Review and summarize case files deposition transcripts and other materials.
- Participate in trial preparation including witness preparation exhibits and case organization.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to provide strategic guidance to clients.
- Attend court hearings pretrial conferences and trials as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and case documentation ensuring compliance with deadlines and legal procedures.
- Stay updated on legal developments trends and case law relevant to the practice areas.
- Federal court experience is a plus.
