Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Solution Architect to join our Newborns Team at Genomics England. In this role you will be responsible for architecting scalable technology solutions while ensuring alignment with business needs.  

You will make key technical decisions contribute to documentation and proofofconcept development and collaborate with engineering teams Delivery Managers domain architects and product owners to clarify requirements and develop solution options. 

Key Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience in architecting solutions within public cloud platforms (AWS). 
  • Strong technical background with the ability to make strategic technical choices. 
  • Skilled in designing solutions and making key architectural decisions. 
  • Ability to frame design solutions and align them with business needs. 
  • Comfortable working across both business and technology domains. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with strong soft skills to engage effectively with stakeholders. 
  • Experience in developing cloudbased solution architectures across application data infrastructure and security domains. 
  • Understanding of microservices architecture patterns. 
  • Knowledge of key considerations in architecting digital products. 
  • Familiarity with architecture methodologies and governance frameworks. 

 


Qualifications :

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
  • TOGAF Certified

Genomics England operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility that hybrid working can bring. We expect most people to come into the office a minimum of 2 times each month. However this will vary according to role and will be agreed with your team leader. There is no expectation that people will return to the office full time unless they want to however some of our roles require full time on site attendance e.g. lab teams reception team. 

Our teams and squads have and will continue to reflect on what works best for them to work together successfully and have the freedom to design working patterns to suit beyond the minimum. Our office locations are: Canary Wharf Cambridge and Leeds.
