Your expertise will contribute to fostering a proactive risk management culture across our projects.

Responsibilities

Support project delivery teams by providing expert guidance on risk management practices and tools
Facilitate risk identification and assessment sessions, ensuring all potential risks are captured and addressed
Develop and maintain accurate risk registers for projects, documenting identified risks, assessments, and mitigation strategies
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align risk management strategies with project objectives
Monitor the ongoing effectiveness of risk management strategies and recommend adjustments as necessary
Prepare regular risk management reports and present findings to senior management and project stakeholders

Risk Identification
Identify Risks: Identify potential risks that could negatively impact the organization, such as financial risks, operational risks, strategic risks, market risks, compliance risks, and environmental risks.
Internal and External Risks: Assess both internal risks (e.g., inefficiencies, employee turnover) and external risks (e.g., economic shifts, natural disasters, regulatory changes).
Risk Workshops and Consultations: Conduct workshops, meetings, and consultations with different departments or external experts to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
Risk Assessment and Analysis
Risk Analysis: Analyze identified risks to determine their likelihood and potential impact on the organization. This analysis typically involves qualitative and quantitative methods, such as risk matrices or simulations.
Risk Evaluation: Prioritize risks based on their potential impact and likelihood, categorizing them into high, medium, or low-risk levels.
Risk Mapping: Develop risk maps or risk registers to document and visualize the various risks and their impact on the organization’s objectives.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
18+ years of relevant experience in risk management within the infrastructure and construction sectors
Strong understanding of risk management methodologies and frameworks
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders
Familiarity with risk management software tools and project management applications
Relevant certifications in risk management (e.g., PMI-RMP, CRM) are advantageous
Risk Mitigation and Control
Develop Mitigation Strategies: Design strategies to mitigate identified risks. These strategies can include risk avoidance, risk transfer (e.g., insurance), risk reduction (e.g., process improvements), or risk acceptance.
Control Measures: Implement control measures, policies, and procedures to reduce the likelihood or impact of risks. This may involve creating new policies, improving internal controls, or strengthening regulatory compliance.
Contingency Plans: Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a risk event. This includes disaster recovery plans, emergency protocols, and alternative processes.
Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor Risks: Continuously monitor the risk environment, assessing new and evolving risks as the organization’s activities or external factors change.
Risk Reporting: Regularly report on the status of risk management efforts to senior management and stakeholders, providing updates on emerging risks, mitigation actions, and risk exposure.
Key Risk Indicators (KRIs): Establish and track key risk indicators to provide early warning signals of potential risks.
